Tuesday Telehealth Tip: How To Make the Telehealth Experience Actually Pleasant!

Hi Reader

Yes, your weekly Telehealth Tip email will now arrive in your inbox on Tuesdays. I figured it made more sense to give you some time each week to implement the tip if it makes sense for you. And, since my kids are home doing remote learning thanks to the large snowstorm I learned a new Literary Term known as Alliteration (haha).

Last week I talked about keeping intake forms short and sweet, Remember, "A frictionless patient access system doesn’t just convince people to get care, it removes the reasons they don't"

Today we're focusing on something that can transform the patient experience and make them keep coming back.

Telehealth visits can sometimes feel impersonal, but small adjustments on your end make a big difference for patients. Here's how to create a more welcoming virtual visit:

Set Up Your Space

  • Position your camera at eye level so you're making direct "eye contact" Even a laptop propped up on a shoebox does the trick!
  • Face a light source so patients can see you clearly
  • Keep your background clean and clutter-free, or consider using a Virtual Background
  • Look at the camera (not the screen) when speaking to create a sense of engagement

These simple changes help patients feel like they're sitting across from you—not just watching a screen.

Don't Forget: Live Phone Tech Support Technology hiccups happen. Remind your patients that live phone tech support is available if they run into issues joining their visit. And providers—you have access to the same support line when you need it. A quick call can turn a frustrating tech moment into a smooth appointment.

When patients feel comfortable and connected, they're more engaged in their care. And that's a win for everyone.

This week's challenge: Ever try a virtual background? In Zoom it's very easy and you can custom create your own even with the free account in Canva or try ChatGPT. Maybe stay away from this one

P.S. Keep an eye out for next week's TUESDAY TELEHEALTH TIP Email! We'll start a short series on AI based on a presentation and webinar that I'm doing next month that you'll all be invited to.

P.P.S. I'm offering something new this month: my "Fix Your Broken Telehealth Package for $999 (payment plans available).

Here's what's included:

  • 5 one-on-one sessions with me ($2,500 value)
  • Complete Telehealth system audit ($250 value)
  • Done-for-you templates: intake forms, HIPAA compliance, and more ($200 value)
  • One full year of Secure Telehealth Zoom account ($750+ value)

That's over $3,700 in value for $999—and you walk away with a Telehealth setup that's optimized, compliant, and easy for your and your patients.

I can only take 3 more this month—each package requires a lot of personal attention, and I want to make sure everyone gets the support they need.
